Minister directs Chairman Karachi Port Trust to start anti-encroachment operation

Islamabad, January 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Kamran Michael has directed the Chairman Karachi Port Trust to start an anti-encroachment operation in those areas that have been unlawfully encroached by occupants. Federal Minister himself reached Karachi to monitor the anti-encroachment operation and in first phase two hundreds unlawful houses on Karachi Port land were demolished on the direction of Federal Minister.

In first phase, this operation was carried in Machhar Colony Karachi and Port Security Forces and related police took part in the operation. More so 50 godowns and pack houses also have been demolished that have been constructed unlawfully and in total 70 Acres land has been retrieved by Karachi port.

Federal Minister asked for all the encroached land record to be provided to him. Kamran Michael has said that operation will continue at every cost and no pressure will be accepted in this regard. He said it emphatically that it does not seem to matter how powerful and influential are the occupants but he is interested to retrieve each inch of land of Government and he is ready to go any extent to retrieve these lands from those who seized the land into their hands.
