More legal success of SSGC, 80 connections disconnected in SSGC franchise

Karachi, August 05, 2019 (PPI-OT): Another success got by SSGC on the legal front. Malir court of Karachi has dismissed the bail application of accused Muhammad Hanif, a gas thieve who was booked in FIR No: 34/2019, u/s 15,17, R/W 24 of Gas Theft Control and Recovery Act 2016. He was using the Gas illegally on commercial basis to produce the electricity through generator to his Factory in Goth, Maril. Honorable Judge Mr. Arshad Murtaza of Gas Court Malir at Karachi dismissed Bail after hearing the arguments of both sides.

Similarly, another gas theft case dismissed by the Gas Utility Court District East Karachi. Court dismissed/Rejected the Bail Application of accused M. Kashif who was nominated in FIR No. 31/2019 under the Gas Theft Control and Recovery Act 2016. Culprit was using gas direct illegally by clamping the SSGC’s main gas pipe line.

On another hand, a number of raids conducted by the SS and CGTO along with CRD team and SSGC Police along with local forces in different areas of Sindh. Raids conducted against gas theft in Lakhi at Shikarpur, Larkana, Lakhi, kadjo goth Mehar, village Chutto Khan Chajero of Radhan, Dera Muhallah Dokri and Yaseen Arcade Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Road, Bihar Colony Karachi, where culprits were running 40 connections directly by plastic pipe clamped with gas distribution line. Raiding team taken in custody rubber pipe and other things being used in gas theft. FIR had been lodged against the miscreants.

It is again stressed by the chief of Counter Gas Theft Operation(CGTO) Brigadier(R) Muhammad Abuzar that we have Zero tolerance for gas thieves. SSGC will keep continue operation against the gas theft with full spirit and dedications he said. SS and CGTO will move aggressively against the gas theft in all sectors
