MUGHAL ENERGY LIMITED ANNOUNCES E-VOTING AND BALLOT PAPER VOTING FOR UPCOMING AGM

Lahore: Mughal Energy Limited has detailed the procedures for electronic and postal voting for its 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM), set to occur on October 12, 2024, at the LSE Capital Limited auditorium in Lahore. The voting options are aimed to facilitate shareholder participation in a special business agenda during the meeting.

The company has scheduled its AGM for mid-October, where shareholders will decide on key proposals. According to the Companies (Postal Ballot) Regulations, 2018, shareholders will have the flexibility to vote either through an electronic voting facility (E-voting) or by postal ballot (Ballot Paper). Mughal Energy has appointed Digital Custodian Company Limited to manage the e-voting process.

For e-voting, shareholders must be registered by the close of business on October 2, 2024, to participate. The e-voting portal will open on October 9 and close on October 11. The company emphasized that once a vote is cast electronically, it cannot be altered.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), postal votes must be received by the chairman no later than the close of working hours on October 11. Accompanying identification and, in cases of corporate entities, appropriate authorizations must be included with submitted ballots. Any submissions after this deadline will be disregarded, and ballots that are incomplete, unsigned, or improperly filled will be rejected.

The procedures and necessary forms for both voting methods will be published in upcoming issues of Business Recorder and Nawa-i-Waqt on October 5, 2024, and are also available on the company’s website. This approach ensures that all shareholders have ample opportunity to review the materials and cast their votes effectively.
