Islamabad, May 05, 2023 (PPI-OT): Deputy Speaker National Assembly Zahid Akram Durrani met with Dr. Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala, Country Head Pakistan of World Health Organization (WHO) at the Parliament House on Thursday.
While talking about Bannu Hospital issue, the Deputy Speaker said that people are facing serious problems related to public health in Bannu and southern districts. He also mentioned that the health facilities in southern district of KPK are meagre. He also said that people of other districts also visit Bannu hospital for treatment.
He said that there are three big hospitals in Bannu district which include Khalifa Gul Nawaz Memorial Hospital Bannu, Women Hospital Bannu and District Headquarters Hospital Bannu. He asked the WHO country for solarisation of Bannu hospitals and provision of other basic facilities.
Dr. Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala, Country Head for Pakistan of World Health Organization assured all possible support for solarisation of Bannu Hospital and provides other basic health facilities. He said that the public health in the southern districts including Bannu. He assured that WHO will continue its support to solve the problems faced in Health Sector.
