New Delhi: National Conference MP Altaf Ahmad Larvi has openly criticized President Droupadi Murmu’s recent parliamentary address for failing to address critical issues affecting Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, during his response to the motion of thanks on the President’s address, Larvi pointed out a significant gap between the achievements listed in the speech and the grim realities faced by the residents of IIOJK. He detailed a lack of effective measures to combat inflation, unemployment, and developmental stalls in the region, highlighting a decade-long stagnation in local recruitment processes that has left many educated youths unemployed.
Larvi also criticized the political changes in IIOJK, particularly the downgrading from a state to a Union Territory, which he said was overwhelmingly rejected by the local population. He called for the restoration of statehood and the establishment of a democratically elected government to address the political disenfranchisement since 2014.
