NDMA issues high flood alert in River Sutlej

According to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), River Sutlej at Ganda Singh Wala has fallen to high flood and witnessing decreasing trend.

The river at Sulemanki is now at high flood and is likely to attain very high in the next twenty four hours.

River Sutlej at Islam is likely to attain Medium-High Flood Level on Thursday or Friday. At-risk Districts include Kasur, Okara, Bahawalnagar, Pakpattan, Vehari, Bahawalpur and Lodhran. With issuance of timely early warning and pro-active engagement of all stakeholders by NDMA, coordinated evacuation of vulnerable and at-risk population from low-lying areas adjacent to River Sutlej has been ensured.
