Officials Discuss Muharram Security Measures

Quetta: A high-level meeting was held in the Shaheed Hamid Shakeel Multipurpose Hall of Police Line to discuss security and other arrangements for Muharram, chaired by Commissioner Quetta Division Hamza Shafqat and DIG Quetta Aitzaz Ahmed Guriah.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, The meeting was attended by key officials including SSP Operation Quetta Muhammad Baloch, SSP Investigation Zohaib Mohsin, SP Security Naeem Achakzai, FC Scatter Commanders, Area SPs, Sunni and Shia scholars, and other dignitaries. Commissioner Shafqat informed the meeting that the district administration has instructed the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta to clean the routes for Ashura processions and ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply. DIG Quetta Guriah outlined the security plan, which includes collaboration with procession organizers, deployment of district police, FC, and other security personnel at sensitive locations, and enhanced monitoring through CCTV cameras.

Abdul Rahim Kakar, President of Anjuman Tajran, pledged the traders community’s cooperation in sealing shops along the procession routes and supporting the security efforts during the processions.
