Officials Ordered to Prepare for Monsoon Season

Quetta: In anticipation of the 2024 Monsoon season, local authorities in the Quetta Division have been instructed to implement advanced measures to prevent urban flooding and potential casualties.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, A circular from the Commissioner’s office has directed the Deputy Commissioners/Collectors of Quetta, Pashin, Qala Abdullah, and Chaman to coordinate closely in preparing for heavy rains. They are required to convene meetings, collaborate with relevant departments, and ensure all necessary equipment and strategies are in place to minimize the impact of the monsoon. The circular stressed the accountability of Field Officers for any loss of life or property within their jurisdictions, underlining the importance of proactive management during the impending weather challenges.
