Islamabad, More than three thousand Sikh pilgrims, known as yatrees, from India entered Pakistan today via the Wagah Border to participate in the Besakhi Mela, a significant religious and cultural festival for Sikhs.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the yatrees were warmly received by officials from the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) upon their arrival in Islamabad. The ETPB has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure a comfortable stay for the pilgrims, including accommodations, security, transportation, and medical services.
During their visit, the yatrees will travel to prominent Sikh religious sites including Hassanabdal, Nankana Sahib, Narowal, Eminabad, and Badami Bagh in Lahore. Special trains have been arranged to facilitate their travel between these locations.
