Owaisi Accuses MP Government of ‘State-Sponsored Communalism’ Following Demolition in Chhatarpur

Bhopal: Asaduddin Owaisi, the Chief of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has charged the Madhya Pradesh government with engaging in “state-sponsored communalism” after the demolition of a home in Chhatarpur district. The house belonged to a man implicated in a protest against Hindu seer Ramgiri Maharaj, which reportedly escalated into violence.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Owaisi’s criticism came after the house of Shahzad Ali was bulldozed following a violent confrontation where participants allegedly threw stones and damaged vehicles, resulting in injuries to several police officers. Owaisi condemned both the violence and the subsequent demolition, which he argues was carried out without due legal process.

Owaisi highlighted that the demolition occurred without apparent adherence to the legal standards required for such an action, questioning whether proper notifications were issued prior to the act. His remarks point to a broader accusation of constitutional violations by BJP-led governments, suggesting that the demolition was a manifestation of broader communal biases within state actions.

Furthermore, Owaisi criticized the local police for their handling of the suspects, accusing them of coercing detainees into participating in acts that undermine their dignity and legal rights.
