Pakistan’s High Commissioner Designate to Australia Makes a Farewell call on Prime Minister Gilani

Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has termed the cordial relations between Pakistan and Australia as important and called for enhanced people to people contacts, high level visits and Parliamentary exchanges between the two countries.

The Prime Minister was talking to Pakistan’s High Commissioner designate to Australia, Mr. Abdul Malik Abdullah who paid a farewell call on him at PM’s House here this afternoon.

The Prime Minister said that he is looking forward to his visit to Perth and interaction with his counterpart and other Australian leadership. He asked the Ambassador Designate to convey his regards and best wishes to Prime Minister Ms Julia Gillard.

The Prime Minister asked the High Commissioner Designate to focus his abilities for promotion of Pakistan’s trade, economic and political interests and pro-actively work for enhancing the overall image of the country abroad

The Prime Minister also asked Mr. Abdul Malik Abdullah to pay special attention to the welfare and well being of Pakistani community living in Australia.

Mr. Abdul Malik Abdullah thanked the Prime Minister for his guidance and confidence reposed on him. He assured to utilize all his abilities to achieve the targets and come up to the expectation of the government.
