Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to collaborate closely to expedite the first phase of Saudi investments in Pakistan under a new arrangement. This call to action was made during a meeting with a high-level Saudi delegation led by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister highlighted the deep-rooted fraternal, economic, and strategic ties between the two countries, noting that their longstanding relationship has consistently been characterized by mutual support. He pointed out that the rapid follow-up visit by the Saudi delegation after his own visit to Saudi Arabia underscored the strong commitment from both sides to further enhance bilateral relations.
During the discussions, Prime Minister Sharif briefed the delegation on the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and its efforts to streamline investment processes in Pakistan. He also noted the pivotal role played by Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and the cooperation of various Pakistani institutions in fostering an investment-friendly environment through the SIFC.
For his part, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal affirmed the Kingdom’s high regard for its relationship with Pakistan and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to bolstering the strategic and economic partnership. The talks also touched on the escalating situation in the occupied Palestinian Territories, reflecting the broad scope of discussions.
