Petroleum Prices in Pakistan Rise Due to Global Market Fluctuations

Islamabad, The Finance Ministry of Pakistan has announced an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, attributing the rise to recent upswings in international market rates.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a spokesperson for the Finance Ministry detailed that the price of petrol surged by $3.82 per barrel, while diesel climbed by $4.30 per barrel over the last fifteen days. The spokesperson explained that the pricing of petroleum products within Pakistan is closely tied to the fluctuations of global market prices and the exchange rate.

Additionally, the spokesperson noted that the recent uncertainties in the Middle East have contributed to the price increases in the global market, suggesting that a resolution to these geopolitical tensions could stabilize or potentially lower prices.
