Pakistan and Australia Enhance Security and Defence Cooperation

Islamabad, General Angus J. Campbell, Chief of Defence Forces Australia, met with Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza in Rawalpindi to discuss deepening defence and security relations between the two countries.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the talks focused on defence cooperation, regional dynamics, and global security challenges. Both military leaders reiterated their commitment to enhancing the security and defence partnership.

The discussions are part of General Campbell’s official visit to Pakistan, which includes the 13th Round of Pakistan-Australia Defence and Security Talks and the 10th Round of 1.5 Track Security Dialogue. General Campbell also received a Guard of Honour by a tri-services contingent, acknowledging the strong military ties and Pakistan Armed Forces’ role in regional peace and counterterrorism efforts.
