Pakistan and Russia Commit to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Islamabad, Pakistan and Russia have pledged to enhance their bilateral relations through regular institutional meetings and follow-up actions.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the commitment was made during discussions between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan. The talks focused on increasing cooperation and understanding, addressing recent regional and global developments. Both countries agreed to convene the ninth session of the Intergovernmental Commission in Moscow later this year. Minister Dar also congratulated Minister Lavrov on Russia’s recent peaceful election process and expressed satisfaction with the positive direction of Pakistan-Russia relations.
