Pakistan and Switzerland Explore Enhanced Bilateral Ties and Investment Opportunities

Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Swiss Ambassador Georg Steiner today, discussing potential expansions in bilateral relations, particularly in trade, investment, and disaster management.

According to Press Information Department, Deputy Prime Minister Dar emphasized the significance of Pakistan’s relationship with Switzerland, highlighting opportunities for deeper cooperation in sectors such as renewable energy and information technology. He expressed appreciation for Swiss companies already operating in Pakistan and encouraged further Swiss investment.

The discussions also covered the effective utilization of a Memorandum of Understanding on Disaster Management signed last year, aiming to enhance collaborative efforts in technology and expertise for managing natural calamities. Additionally, the talks included regional dynamics and multilateral issues, with Deputy Prime Minister Dar appreciating Switzerland’s contributions to humanitarian and peace-building efforts globally.
