Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held extensive discussions with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, during Fidan’s official visit to Pakistan. The talks, which took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing regional and global issues, including the situation in Gaza and combating Islamophobia.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers reviewed various aspects of Pakistan-Turkey relations and agreed to deepen ties in trade, investment, defense, and security. They also prepared for the upcoming 7th session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) to be held in Islamabad. Dar expressed appreciation for Turkey’s consistent support for the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Northern Cyprus.
Discussions also covered the ongoing crisis in Gaza, with both leaders calling for an urgent ceasefire and humanitarian aid for Palestinians. They emphasized the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state as a solution for lasting peace in the Middle East. Additionally, the ministers highlighted the need to address Islamophobia globally through comprehensive measures.
