Pakistan Army wins 1st National Clay Shooting Championship

Rawalpindi, February 28, 2016 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Army won the 1st National Clay Shooting Championship. The 9 day long shooting championship was held at Jhelum. The competition was first of its kind in which 5 teams from Army, Navy and Federal, Punjab and Sindh Rifle Associations participated. The competition witnessed a high standard of shooting from all 38 participants with some gripping matches. There were total of 3 matches in Trap, Skeet and Double Trap shooting. Maj Gen Zafar ul Haq GOC 37 Div, Maj Abu Bakr and Maj Amir won Gold in Trap, Skeet and Double Trap respectively in individual matches.

Army teams won gold in all the three matches. Shooters from Pak Army bagged 6 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze medals to win the championship. Pakistan Navy stood 2nd with 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medal while Federal Rifle Association stood 3rd with 2 Bronze medals followed by Sindh Rifle Association with 1 Bronze medal.
