Islamabad: Pakistan and China have signed three key agreements to bolster cooperation in agriculture, education, and green development, promising significant economic benefits and employment opportunities for Pakistan. The Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) lauded the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), forecasting they will spark collaborative ventures and sustainable economic expansion.
PCJCCI President Nazir Hussain emphasized the pacts signify a strengthening bilateral relationship and a shift toward people-focused sustainable progress under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The introduction of cutting-edge Chinese technologies, educational proficiency, and environmentally sound practices is expected to transform key Pakistani economic sectors. He stressed the agreements’ importance for inclusive development, particularly given Pakistan’s youthful demographic. The MoUs align with Pakistan’s Vision 2025, aiming to empower young people, uplift underdeveloped areas, and generate employment-driven growth. They mark a strategic evolution of CPEC from infrastructure-centric projects to human-centered initiatives.
The agriculture agreement will modernize Pakistan’s farming industry through advanced technologies, improved irrigation, and efficient resource utilization, according to PCJCCI Executive Committee Member Khalid Raffique Ch. This should boost output and expand agribusinesses, creating numerous jobs in food processing, packaging, logistics, and agricultural exports, particularly in rural areas. Demonstration farms, training hubs, and joint research projects will further generate employment for specialists and laborers.
PCJCCI Vice President Zafar Iqbal stated the education accord will substantially develop human capital. Increased academic interactions, scholarships, joint programs, and technical training partnerships will give Pakistani students and professionals access to high-quality instruction and advanced technologies, boosting employment in education, IT, engineering, and research. Vocational and technical programs geared toward industry needs will equip youth with marketable skills, reducing unemployment and building a future-ready workforce.
The green development MoU promotes sustainable practices and environmental protection. PCJCCI Secretary General Salahuddin Hanif affirmed the chamber’s ongoing commitment to facilitating communication, promoting business partnerships, and supporting the agreements’ successful implementation. The PCJCCI believes these agreements can reshape Pakistan’s economy and deliver concrete benefits to its people through job creation, skill development, and sustainable prosperity.
