Pakistan Condemns Indian Defence Minister’s Remarks as Provocative

Islamabad, Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation of the remarks made by the Indian Defence Minister in a recent television interview, labeling them as provocative and detrimental to regional peace. The statement released by the Foreign Office underscores Pakistan’s determination to protect its sovereignty and highlights the tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized Pakistan’s capability and readiness to defend its territory against aggression, citing the country’s response to India’s incursion in February 2019 as evidence of its military resilience. Baloch criticized the Indian government for its use of nationalist rhetoric for political gains, stating that such behavior is shortsighted and jeopardizes the possibility of constructive dialogue between the two nations.

Baloch further accused India of engaging in a campaign of extrajudicial assassinations on Pakistani soil and asserted that India’s threats to carry out more such acts are an open admission of its aggressive policies. The spokesperson called on the international community to take notice of India’s actions and hold it accountable for violating international norms and laws.

The statement from the Pakistani Foreign Office highlights the ongoing friction between Pakistan and India, underscoring the complexities of their bilateral relationship and the challenges to achieving lasting peace in the region.
