Pakistan Eases Visa Policy to Boost Sikh Religious Tourism

Washington D.C, In a significant outreach to the Sikh community worldwide, Pakistan has simplified its visa regime to facilitate visits to religious sites within the country, as per Ambassador Masood Khan. The announcement was made during a meeting with the American Punjabi Society at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington, D.C.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Masood Khan emphasized Pakistan’s respect for the religious sentiments of the Sikh community and reiterated the commitment to providing all necessary facilities to international Sikh pilgrims. The revised visa policy aims to ease the travel process for followers of various faiths, focusing on maximizing facilitation for those intending to visit religious landmarks in Pakistan. Gary Sikka, President of the American Punjabi Society, which boasts a membership of 100,000 Punjabi Sikhs, including some from Pakistan, discussed upcoming visits by a delegation of 115 members to Lahore, Faisalabad, Islamabad, and Kartarpur.

The delegation members shared their positive experiences from previous visits, particularly to Kartarpur, and expressed gratitude towards the Pakistani government for its hospitality and efforts to ease their pilgrimage.
