Pakistan Government Implements Measures to Provide Economic Relief

Islamabad: Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik announced that the government is actively working to provide economic relief to the public. At a news conference held in Islamabad, he outlined initiatives aimed at reducing electricity costs and enhancing the socio-economic conditions of marginalized communities.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Malik detailed the formation of five committees tasked with devising strategies to alleviate electricity costs for consumers. Additionally, the government has allocated six hundred billion rupees under the Benazir Income Support Program to aid needy and deserving individuals.

During his address, Malik differentiated Pakistan’s situation from Bangladesh, dismissing the potential success of anarchic elements in the country. He also underscored recent socio-economic advancements, noting a 6.5 percent growth rate in rural areas and a significant reduction in overall inflation from 38 percent to 11 percent. Furthermore, tax collection has seen a 30 percent increase.

The Minister criticized the opposition for their refusal to participate constructively in government, despite an invitation from the Prime Minister following the last General Election. He challenged them to focus on creating employment opportunities and improving education and health infrastructure rather than engaging in agitation.
