Pakistan Government Steps Up Efforts to Reduce Electricity Costs

Islamabad: Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has announced significant government initiatives aimed at reducing electricity costs through enhanced anti-theft campaigns and minimization of line losses.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a briefing to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Energy, Minister Leghari outlined the strategies being implemented, including a substantial subsidy of 65 billion rupees allocated to the erstwhile FATA in the current budget. These measures are part of a broader effort to alleviate the financial burden on consumers and improve the efficiency of the national power grid.
