Pakistan Raises Alarm Over U.S. Weapons Left in Afghanistan

Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed significant concern over the presence of advanced U.S. weapons in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of American troops in August 2021. The Foreign Office has highlighted the potential threat these weapons pose to the nation’s safety and security.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan addressed media queries regarding recent reports about efforts to reclaim these weapons. He emphasized that terrorist groups, including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), have utilized these advanced weapons to execute attacks within Pakistan.

Khan further stated Pakistan’s ongoing requests to the authorities in Kabul to take decisive action to prevent these weapons from being accessed by terrorist organizations. The situation remains a pressing issue for Pakistan as it seeks to safeguard the security of its citizens amidst regional instability.
