Pakistan Ramps Up Climate Change Efforts Ahead of CoP29

Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam, met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss the nation’s strategies against climate change and garner support for the upcoming Conference of Parties (CoP29) in Baku. The meeting focused on coordination and support for effective representation at the international forum.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Alam briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the various initiatives undertaken to mitigate the impact of climate change in Pakistan. She emphasized the importance of cohesive support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure a successful participation in CoP29.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar expressed his full backing for the Ministry of Climate Change’s efforts during the CoP29 process, highlighting the critical role of international cooperation in addressing global climate challenges. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to enhancing environmental policies and actions.
