Pakistan Stock Market Faces Mixed Technical Signals, with Caution Advised

Karachi, The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE-100 Index) experienced a notable decline, failing to sustain its intraday high and closing lower, amidst mixed technical signals for various stocks.

According to JS Global, the KSE-100 index was unable to maintain its intraday high of 66,587, sliding to close at 65,205, down 925 points day-over-day. Trading volumes stood at 1,890 million shares compared to 1,741 million shares in the previous session. The index is expected to test support at 65,065, with a potential further decline towards 64,427 if this level is breached. Conversely, any upward movement will likely encounter resistance between 65,600 and 66,170, with a break above potentially targeting the recent high of 67,094.

An Engulfing Bear pattern has been identified along with a MACD Sell signal, suggesting a cautious approach for investors. The recommendation is to stay on the sidelines at the current levels, with key support and resistance identified at 64,650 and 66,172, respectively.

In individual stock analysis, Maple Leaf Cement Factory (MLCF) is predicted to continue its slide, with a ‘Sell on Strength’ strategy advised, targeting Rs39.73 and Rs37.76, and a stoploss at Rs41.70. On the other hand, Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR) is expected to recover, with a ‘Buy on dips’ strategy recommended, targeting Rs218.49 and Rs223.81, and a stoploss at Rs207.00.

These technical insights provide investors with guidance on potential movements in the Pakistan stock market, amidst a backdrop of fluctuating indices and individual stock performances.
