Islamabad, January 11, 2016 (PPI-OT): Pakistan sweet homes orphan kids paid homage to families who have lost their love ones in sectarian violence in Gilgit-Baltistan. The day was term as Gilgit-Baltistan Day with Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Mr. Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman being the chief guest. Mr. Hafeezur Rehman acknowledges the work of Mr. Zamurrad Khan and assured his government support for Pakistan Sweet Homes. Various recreational activities were arranged for the children.

Gilgit Cultural among the children was the highlight of the event where the PSH children exhibited their skills, said a press release. One of the kids from Gilgit-Baltistan Ahmer ten years old said that, “Me and my brothers of Gilgit-Baltistan hope that one day this wave of sectarian violence will finish. And we all can take part to finish this wave of terrorism in Pakistan”. Chief Minister further said that I am totally inspired by the work of MD Bait ul Mal Barrister Mr. Abid Wahid Sheikh and Mr. Zamurrad Khan. And till my last drop of blood I would be standing with the orphan kids of Pakistan. They are the real hero”.

He further added that “There could be no substitute to the blessing of having parents but we can, at least, provide these children social cover and an environment to help them stand on their own feet and become asset for the society”.

He further added that by caring for these children and protecting them from falling into wrong hands we are in fact protecting our own children from becoming orphans”. He also emphasized on the role of current government. Mr. Zamurrad Khan Patron In Chief Pakistan Sweet Homes on this occasion said that Pakistan Sweet Homes have become the largest orphanage of Asia with 3600 Angels orphan kids in 31 cities of Pakistan.

He said 3600 orphaned children are being taken care of, with free education, food and residence, under the Pakistan Sweet Home project, which was initiated in 2009 from one child. Two centres are currently working in Gilgit-Baltistan one in Gilgit centre and other in Skardu but there is dire need to create centre in every district of the region. It was very encouraging that politicians were taking interest in providing recreational opportunities to the poverty-ridden class of the society, he added.

He said all-out efforts were being made to provide modern basic facilities at Pakistan Sweet Homes, yet there was need to make generous contributions to meet future requirements of the children. He said provision of modern education and quality shelter to the poverty-ridden and deserving segment of the society was main purpose of his life and generous contribution of the philanthropists was required to meet the necessities of the children housed in Pakistan Sweet Homes.
