Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited Reschedules AGM and Book Closure Dates

Islamabad, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced a rescheduling of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the closure of its Share Transfer Books, following the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan’s (SECP) approval for an extension. The twenty-ninth AGM will now be held on May 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., moved from the previously scheduled date of April 29, 2024. Additionally, the Share Transfer Books will be closed from May 21, 2024, to May 28, 2024, a change from the original dates of April 22, 2024, to April 29, 2024.

The adjustment in the schedule comes after PTCL sought a 30-day extension for holding its AGM under sections 132 and 223 of the Companies Act, 2017. The SECP has granted this extension, allowing the company to convene its AGM by no later than May 29, 2024, and present the annual audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2023, for shareholder approval.
