Pakistan to Enhance Mobile Broadband with New Spectrum Release

Islamabad: In a significant move to improve mobile broadband services across Pakistan, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired an Advisory Committee meeting focused on the release of International Mobile Telephony (IMT) Spectrum.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting included key figures such as the Minister of State for IT and Telecom, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), along with other senior officials.

They discussed strategies for the efficient allocation and use of the IMT spectrum to boost connectivity, increase internet speeds, and satisfy the growing demand for high-quality data services. The discussions also covered the auction process, technical specifications, and the planned timeline for the spectrum release, aiming to foster technological advancement and attract investment in the telecommunications sector.
