Pakistan to Enhance Wheat Procurement from Farmers, Announces Minister Rana Tanveer

Islamabad, Minister for National Food Security, Rana Tanveer Hussain, announced that the government will increase its procurement of wheat from local farmers to bolster agricultural support and ensure farmer welfare.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, speaking to the media on Saturday, Minister Hussain highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing the agricultural sector’s productivity. He noted that the wheat procurement target might be raised if necessary to meet growing demands. Additionally, Hussain revealed plans to stabilize fertilizer prices and provide it to farmers at fixed rates throughout the year. Looking ahead to the next financial budget, the minister promised further incentives for farmers to support their economic stability and productivity.
