Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Calls for Increased Foreign Investment in Pakistan

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared Pakistan’s intent to enhance foreign investment in various sectors, highlighting agriculture, food security, IT, tourism, and mining as areas of significant potential during a meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions in Islamabad focused on strengthening the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, with both sides expressing optimism about growing ties. Prime Minister Sharif emphasized ongoing institutional reforms, including the nearing completion of the Federal Board of Revenue’s digitization process, as key elements in boosting economic efficiency and transparency. He also outlined broader macro and microeconomic strategies aimed at revitalizing Pakistan’s economy.

The British delegation acknowledged the Pakistani government’s initiatives, particularly the education emergency initiative, as positive steps toward development. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also participated in the meeting, underscoring the collaborative effort of Pakistan’s top officials to attract and secure foreign investments.
