Pakistan to Mark Yaum-e-Istehsal, Reflecting on 76 Years of Jammu and Kashmir’s Occupation

Islamabad: Eng Amir Muqam, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit Baltistan, and SAFRON, has instructed all relevant departments to coordinate efforts for the upcoming observance of Yaum-e-Istehsal on August 5, marking 76 years since India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a meeting to review preparations for Yaum-e-Istehsal, Amir Muqam highlighted that India has maintained control over Jammu and Kashmir for over seven decades. He criticized the revocation of the region’s special status on August 5, 2019, which he claimed violated United Nations resolutions and disregarded the wishes of the Kashmiri populace.
