Pakistan to Offer Vocational Training to Sri Lankan Students in Medical and Religious Fields

Islamabad, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain has announced a new initiative to provide vocational training to Sri Lankan students in the medical and religious sectors.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting with Sri Lankan Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs Vidura Wickramanayake, Chaudhry Salik Hussain discussed increasing scholarship opportunities for Sri Lankan students and highlighted Pakistan’s efforts in preserving Gandhara culture and safeguarding religious sites. The discussions also touched on potential opportunities for Sri Lankan youth in Pakistan’s tourism sector.

The meeting was part of broader efforts to enhance bilateral relations, which also included talks with Kazakhstan Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin on security and educational collaboration, and addressing issues like Islamophobia. Ambassador Kistafin noted the upcoming religious conference in Kazakhstan, emphasizing the importance of Pakistan’s participation in fostering religious dialogue.
