Pakistan Ulema Council Demands Justice for May 9 Incidents

Lahore, Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, has called for the punishment of all individuals involved in the May 9 incidents, emphasizing the need for justice to prevent future occurrences. During a press conference held today, Ashrafi highlighted the unprecedented nature of the attacks on defense installations and martyrs’ memorials, which he stated were clearly premeditated.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ashrafi stressed the supremacy of the state over political interests, declaring that politics could be sacrificed but not the state’s integrity. He proposed the formation of a commission to investigate potential conspiracies aimed at creating divisions between the army and the populace. Ashrafi warned that without proper accountability for the May 9 events, similar incidents could happen again, jeopardizing national security and unity.
