Pakistani Business Leaders Defy India’s Aggressive Stance

Karachi: Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Amaan Pracha, and President of the United Business Group (UBG), Zubair Tufail, addressed a press conference at the Federation House, expressing confidence in Pakistan’s resilience against India’s aggressive posturing. Joining them were FPCCI Vice Presidents Asif Sakhi and Abdul Muhaimin Khan, along with LPG distributors’ representative Ali Haider.

Amaan Pracha asserted that the Pakistani nation, including its business community, is unfazed by India’s threats, labeling them as hollow. He criticized the Indian government’s actions under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that they nurture terrorism and lack credibility. Pracha emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism and expressed the nation’s readiness to counter any false accusations from India, particularly referencing the Pulwama incident.

Zubair Tufail echoed these sentiments, stating that any attempts by India to harm Pakistan’s economy would be met with strong resistance. He highlighted the international embarrassment faced by the Modi government over the Pulwama episode and underscored the unity of the Pakistani people and their support for the Pakistan Army.

Furthermore, Tufail noted the economic repercussions faced by India due to strained relations with Pakistan, particularly the loss of $1.14 billion resulting from closed trade routes to Afghanistan. He warned of further economic and political consequences for India if current hostilities persist.

FPCCI Vice Presidents Abdul Muhaimin Khan and Asif Sakhi reiterated the strength of the Pakistani military and the business community’s unwavering support. They criticized India’s routine of blaming Pakistan for various incidents, accusing it of failing to address its own administrative shortcomings while acknowledging the global awareness of India’s links to terrorist organizations.
