Karachi: The Chairman of the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA), Sheikh Umer Rehan, has praised the historic visit of a Pakistani business delegation to Bangladesh, marking the first such visit in 12 years. This development is seen as a significant milestone for both nations’ economic relations.

He emphasized the importance for the business community to explore new opportunities and enter previously untapped markets, facilitated by the FPCCI.
Rehan underscored the progress made by Pakistan and Bangladesh in promoting mutual trade and friendship, highlighting the easing of visa restrictions as a critical factor. He expressed hope that these measures would enhance bilateral ties and substantially increase trade volumes between the two countries.
The PVMA Chairman pointed out the potential of Bangladeshi trade facilities to serve as a launchpad for Pakistani industrialists aiming to expand into new markets. He encouraged entrepreneurs to take advantage of what he termed a “golden opportunity.” He also acknowledged the contributions of the Bangladeshi Minister of Commerce and the Pakistani Ambassador in strengthening bilateral trade relations.
Rehan further emphasized the role of government support in creating a conducive trade environment. He advocated for providing necessary facilities to enable Pakistani industrialists to increase production and compete more effectively in global markets.
The visit is viewed as a crucial step toward enhancing economic cooperation and building stronger ties between the two South Asian countries.
