Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Encourages Business Expansion into Africa

Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar called on Pakistani businessmen to seize business opportunities in African nations, highlighting the potential for exporting surgical goods, pharmaceuticals, and other products. This appeal was made during a news conference in Islamabad where Dar provided an overview of his recent diplomatic engagements.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar emphasized economic diplomacy during his roundup of visits to Saudi Arabia and Gambia, where he attended the World Economic Forum and the 15th OIC summit, respectively. A Memorandum of Understanding with Gambia aimed at maximizing bilateral trade potential was also signed during these visits.

Furthermore, Dar addressed several international concerns at the OIC summit, including hostilities in Gaza, human rights violations in Kashmir, and the global rise of Islamophobia. He noted that the OIC appointed a special envoy to tackle Islamophobia worldwide.

On regional stability, Dar remarked on the security concerns involving Afghanistan, particularly the alleged orchestration of an attack on Chinese nationals in Pakistan from Afghan territory. He also hinted at an upcoming visit by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Pakistan, with dates to be determined soon.
