Pakistan’s Leadership Extends Ramadan Greetings and Emphasizes Solidarity

Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have conveyed their heartfelt greetings to the Pakistani populace and Muslims globally on the commencement of Ramadan, underscoring the period as one of profound spiritual significance and communal unity.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari used this moment to highlight the essence of Ramadan as a time for deepening religious devotion and fostering an ideal Islamic way of life. He further leveraged this platform to call on the international community and the Muslim Ummah to stand in solidarity with the Palestinians, advocating for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to alleviate their sufferings.

Simultaneously, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed these sentiments, recognizing Ramadan as a divine dispensation filled with mercy and blessings. Amidst acknowledging the economic hurdles facing the nation, he announced a historic Ramadan relief package, aimed at easing the burdens of the less fortunate within Pakistan. The Prime Minister also encouraged philanthropy among affluent Pakistanis, urging them to extend their support to the impoverished during this holy month.

Moreover, both leaders utilized their messages to urge the nation to keep the oppressed individuals of Gaza and Palestine in their prayers and thoughts, emphasizing the importance of empathy and action during these trying times. The Prime Minister, in particular, called attention to the plights of Kashmiris under Indian governance, soliciting prayers and support for their cause as well.
