Parliamentarians call on Prime Minister; appreciate decisions of Cabinet

Islamabad: Parliamentarians who called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani in his Parliament House Chamber here today appreciated the major decisions of the Cabinet yesterday, which were aimed at providing immediate relief to the domestic consumers of gas and electricity.

The decision to enhance 1200 MW thermal power generation to minimize the load shedding is indeed welcoming and clearly manifests how much the government cares for the people as it would entail subsidy of Rs 15 billion.

The decision to import 378,000 tonnes of sugar would also deter the speculators to fleece the common people besides ensuring sufficient supply of the commodity in the market. It was only due to right decision at the right time that the price of sugar had come down to almost half as that of last year, the Parliamentarians said.

They strongly rejected the PML-N President’s assertion regarding the setting up of military courts in Karachi. They also welcomed the observation of the Chief Justice the other day, saying the chapter of military courts had been closed for ever.

Sahibzada Fazal Karim, MNA, discussed with the Prime Minister the political situation in the country.

Mr. Iftikhar Nazir Ahamd MNA requested the Prime Minister to visit his constituency to inaugurate the development projects.

Mr. Ahmad Yar Waran invited the Prime Minister to preside over a big public meeting he intends to organize next month or any other date convenient to the Prime Minister. Syed Aluddin MNA apprised the Prime Minister about the development projects completed in his constituency.
