PM for priority plan for up-gradation of power transmission system

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for a plan on priority basis for up-gradation of electricity transmission system and distribution companies.

Chairing a meeting regarding power sector in Islamabad today, he directed the authorities concerned to submit a plan in this regard within a week.

The Prime Minister ordered to expedite the process of privatization and outsourcing of distribution companies.

He said circular debt will be reduced by bringing reforms in the power sector. He reiterated commitment that those involved in power pilferage will not be allowed to harm the country’s treasury.

Shehbaz Sharif also issued directives to complete major power transmission system related projects within the stipulated period.
