Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on the international community to take decisive action to halt what he described as “barbaric crimes” in Gaza and Rafah by Israeli forces. In a video message released today, he emphasized the need for global efforts to ensure lasting peace in both Palestine and Kashmir.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the actions of Israeli forces against Palestinians, stating that these acts violate international norms, decisions of the International Court of Justice, and United Nations Resolutions. He reported that in the past eight months, over 36,000 people have been killed and thousands of homes have been destroyed, leaving many to live in dire conditions.
Sharif expressed his gratitude towards Muslim countries that have voiced their opposition to these actions through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the UN Security Council. He highlighted the leadership role of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and noted significant support from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait. Additionally, he thanked European nations such as Spain, Norway, and Ireland for their support in recognizing the State of Palestine.
The Prime Minister concluded his message by praying for enduring peace in Gaza and Rafah, hoping for a future where the people of Palestine can live in peace.
