PM Sharif Advocates Strengthening Pak-Azerbaijan Ties in Multiple Sectors

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today emphasized the importance of enhancing Pakistan-Azerbaijan cooperation in the realms of trade, investment, energy, and security. This discussion took place during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, who is on an official visit to Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the longstanding mutual support between the two nations on core issues and reaffirmed their commitment to continue this collaboration at every international forum. He congratulated Minister Bayramov on Baku’s selection as the host city for the upcoming COP29 conference in November, asserting that Pakistan is keen to collaborate closely with Azerbaijan for the event’s success.

Recalling his previous visit to Baku and interactions with President Aliyev, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated a warm invitation to the Azeri President to visit Pakistan later this year. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Bayramov thanked the Prime Minister for the hospitality and briefed him on earlier discussions with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar. Bayramov also conveyed the warm regards of Azerbaijan’s leadership and expressed a strong desire to further enhance bilateral ties with Pakistan.
