POL discovers oil and gas in TAL Block – Alfalah Securities Limited

Karachi: Pakistan Oilfields Ltd (POL) has recently discovered hydrocarbon reserves in its development well “Manzalai-9” of TAL Block which is currently being drilled and completed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Alfalah Securities Limited, a POL official has stated that the well has tested 580 barrels per day of oil and 23.3 mmcfd gas per day at flowing wellhead pressure of 4000 psi during drill stem test (DST) at Lockhart and Lumshiwal formations while the Samanasuk formation has tested 716 barrel per day of oil and 6.72 mmcfd gas at flowing wellhead pressure of 1658 psi. The TAL block is operated by MOL (a Hungarian based Oil and Gas firm) while Pakistan Oil Fields (POL) has a working interest of 25% in the block.
