Polling Begins in Pakistan for By-Elections on 21 Assembly Seats

Islamabad, Voters across Pakistan headed to the polls today for by-elections filling 21 vacant seats in both the National and Provincial Assemblies. The elections, which started this morning, are set to continue uninterrupted until 5 p.m.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the seats up for grabs include five in the National Assembly, twelve in the Punjab Assembly, two in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, and two in the Balochistan Assembly. To oversee the polling process, the Election Commission of Pakistan has established Election Monitoring and Control Centers at various administrative levels, including provincial, divisional, and district levels, along with a central operation at the Election Commission Secretariat in Islamabad.

These centers are tasked with registering and resolving any public complaints that emerge during the course of the elections, ensuring a smooth electoral process.
