Power Division Denies Plans for Special Courts and Police Stations to Combat Electricity Theft

Islamabad: The Power Division today refuted media reports suggesting the establishment of dedicated courts and police stations to address electricity theft, clarifying its ongoing strategies in combating this issue.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Power Division issued a statement late tonight dismissing the news as inaccurate. The division emphasized that the federal government’s current anti-theft campaign involves collaboration with existing law enforcement agencies rather than the creation of new judicial bodies or police units specifically for this purpose.

The statement also assured that the costs associated with the anti-theft campaign are not being passed on to consumers, addressing concerns about potential increases in utility expenses due to these efforts.
