President underscores need for investment in health sector

President Dr Arif Alvi has underscored the need for more investment in health sector to improve the healthcare system of the country.

Virtually addressing a healthcare awareness convention in Islamabad, he said no country can progress without providing a robust health and education infrastructure to its people.

The President emphasized on creating awareness about importance of early diagnosis and preventive measures to avoid diseases.

He especially highlighted how chronic disease like cancer can be fully cured of when diagnosed early.

Appreciating the awareness campaigns about breast cancer, Dr Arif Alvi said these have helped a lot in cutting down Pakistan’s alarming percentage of deaths due to breast cancer.

Earlier, Begum Samina Alvi gave away recognition awards to health practitioners for contributing to the health sector.
