President urges Muslims to follow Quran, Sunnah

President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged Muslims to follow Quran and Sunnah of Holy Prophet Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Alayhee Wa Ashabehi Wassalam aimed at helping deprived people in society.

Addressing a ceremony at Chambers of Commerce in Islamabad, he stressed the need for ethics, morality, fraternity, equality, justice and tranquillity.

He said we should follow golden principles of Islam as model for peace and guidance.

The President said this country came into being in the name of Islam as there is mentioned in the Objective Resolution that newly established country would be ruled according to Quran and Sunnah. He said Islam is our religion and Quran is our constitution.

He urged people to practically follow Islam and adopt paths of forbearance, forgiveness, patience, tolerance and helping each other.

He said Seerat-un-Nabi is a complete code of life for mankind and the Holy Prophet Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Alayhee Wa Ashabehi Wassalam is a role model for every person.

The President stressed that we should take care of oppressed and poor as guided by our Holy Prophet.

He said no country can become a prosperous state without giving due rights to oppressed and less privileged.

He advised philanthropists and authorities concerned to come forward and help downtrodden people.

He said provision of basic facilities, empowerment of women and quality education for all are sine-qua-non for prosperity and development of any nation.
