Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the need for Eastern nations to lead sustainable development initiatives, speaking at the 2nd High-level Meeting of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development organized by the China International Development Cooperation Agency in Beijing.

According to Press Information Department, President Zardari expressed strong support for China’s Global Development Initiative (GDI), urging developing countries to actively contribute to the global development agenda. The GDI aims to foster shared prosperity and tackle global challenges by accelerating the implementation of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The President highlighted the significance of Eastern perspectives in addressing global issues of progress, health, and development, noting the pivotal role of countries like China and Pakistan in these efforts.
