The President emphasized the need for unity against cruelty and evil, while the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of equality and discipline to face both internal and external threats to the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari connected the lessons of Karbala to contemporary struggles, particularly pointing to the ordeals faced by Kashmiris and Palestinians, emphasizing the universal struggle for justice and freedom. Prime Minister Sharif echoed these sentiments, calling for an end to divisiveness and urging the nation to emulate the courage and perseverance of the martyrs of Karbala to strengthen national unity and confront oppression.
