President Zardari Commends Armed Forces for National Security and Progress

Karachi, President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed his appreciation for the Armed Forces of Pakistan, highlighting their crucial role in protecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. During a meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir at Aiwan-e-Sadar in Islamabad, the President praised the military’s efforts in contributing to the social uplift of areas affected by terrorism and extremism, reinforcing the army’s commitment to the nation’s advancement.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari underscored Pakistan’s resolute stance against terrorism and its readiness to employ all elements of national power in response. He also addressed the unfounded accusations against the military and its leadership by certain political factions, vowing a stringent response to such destabilizing activities.

In a tribute to the martyrs who have laid down their lives for Pakistan, President Zardari emphasized that their sacrifices epitomize the resilience and fortitude of the Pakistani people. He reaffirmed the country’s dedication to acknowledging and honoring the sacrifices of its shuhadas and their families.

The Army Chief, in turn, congratulated President Zardari on his appointment and briefed him on the army’s ongoing operations against terrorism, its readiness to counter conventional threats, and its contributions to development projects, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the shared commitment to maintaining peace, security, and progress in Pakistan, reflecting a united front in the face of challenges to national security and development.
